About me and the piggies

Hello! My name is Marloes. I live in the Netherlands and I'm 30 years old. Taking photos is something I absolutely love. I take photos of my guinea pigs and I take magical portraits of people. You can find my other photography work on my other website. 

My guinea pigs are all indoor piggies, which means the crew lives indoors all year. Their cage is in the living room. So the piggies get to see and talk to me all day long. The piggies get a lot of play time on the floor.

I started the Instagram adventure on the 21st of January 2015. 

 

The adventure started with my sweet Mieps. She was the first guinea pig that was really my own. I bought Mieps at a pet store in 2013. Her favourite snacks were: chicory, cucumber, watermelon and carrots. She passed away in 2020 at the amazing age of 7.

On the 31th of October (2016) I adopted an adorable male piggy from a shelter nearby. His name is Archie and was about 1 year old when I got him. We named him after my dad's first guinea pig. Sadly Archie passed away on the 23rd of May (2017). 

 

Pien and Wies became a part of the family on the 9th of June 2017, so that Mieps would not be alone.

 

We welcomed Lien in July 2018, sadly she passed away a few months after because of an illness. 

 

On the 5th of January 2019 Sien joined our family. She was around 2 months old at the time. Sadly she got very ill overnight and she passed away on the 17th of October 2020.

 

My precious Mieps passed away on the 18th of March (2020) at the beautiful age of 7. 

 

In September 2021 we adopted Fien from someone in my town who didn't want new guinea pigs after Fien's mate passed away. The bonding with Wies and Pien went really smooth and they were a happy crew. Fien crossed the rainbow bridge in her sleep peacefully on the 11th of May 2022.

 

Sweet Pien passed away suddenly at the age of 5,5 in August 2022 after getting really sick overnight. 

 

After Pien passed away Wies needed a new friend. So I brought home two baby guinea pigs. Lies and Mies were born around the 9th of August 2022 and moved in with us on the 6th of September 2022.
